She Left the CEO and Reclaimed Her Empire

Chapter 503

Camille Hartwell enjoyed two days off after returning from Calderwick.

She spent the first day completely resting.

On the second morning, just after finishing breakfast.

Her phone rang.

It was Damien Harrington calling.

Camille glanced at the screen before answering. "What is it?"

"Grandma was discharged from the hospital two days ago. She wants you to come to Harrington Manor for lunch."

Camille already knew about Helena's discharge. She had been away on business in Calderwick at the time and couldn't personally pick her up from the hospital.

"Understood," Camille replied.

Just as she was about to hang up, Damien added, "I'll come pick you up."

"No need, I'll drive myself—"

"Chloe insists on coming with me to get you. She's already putting her shoes on." Damien interrupted her.

Camille paused. "...Alright."

"We'll be there shortly."

Camille remained silent, so Damien ended the call.

About thirty minutes later, Damien and Chloe arrived at the Hartwell residence.

The rest of the Hartwell family wasn't home. When Chloe saw Camille, she happily jumped out of the car, ran over, and hugged her. "Mom!"

From the driver's seat, Damien lowered the window and turned to look at them.

Once inside the car, Chloe clung to Camille, chattering about her recent adventures. She mentioned that the gift she bought was already waiting at Harrington Manor.

While Camille talked with Chloe, Damien focused solely on driving. When Chloe finished her stories, he glanced back at Camille. "You've been resting these past two days?"

"Yes," she answered.

Little else passed between them. Damien didn't initiate further conversation during the drive.

Helena had always been particularly fond of Camille. Seeing her arrive at Harrington Manor brought her immense joy.

Noting how much better Helena looked, Camille felt genuinely relieved.

Damien remained quite busy—while Camille kept Helena company and chatted with her, his phone hardly stopped ringing.

After lunch, Camille originally planned to stay a bit longer before heading home in the afternoon. But outside, a heavy downpour began and showed no signs of stopping.

Since Helena had only just recovered and still felt weak, she went upstairs for her afternoon nap.

Damien then said to Camille, "If you're tired, go upstairs and rest too."

Before she could answer, Chloe tugged on her hand and pulled her upstairs.

Instead of going to Damien's room, Camille followed Chloe into hers.

When she had cleared out her things from Damien's house, she had taken almost everything.

But here at Harrington Manor, she hadn't removed her belongings. Several sets of her clothes still remained in Chloe's wardrobe.

As Camille searched for pajamas to change into, a knock sounded at the door.

She turned her head. Before she could speak, Damien, standing in the doorway, saw her rifling through Chloe's closet.

Realizing she must be looking for sleepwear, he made no comment.

His eyes shifted to the bed where Chloe lay. "She's asleep?"

Camille nodded lightly.

"Rest well," he said.

With that, he gently closed the door and walked away.

It had been a long time since Camille last stayed at Harrington Manor. She thought she wouldn't be able to fall asleep, yet shortly after lying down beside Chloe, she drifted off unconsciously.

When she woke, perhaps from sleeping too long, her temples throbbed slightly. Chloe was no longer in the room.

After washing up, she went downstairs but didn't see Helena or Chloe—only Damien sat in the living room, reading.

Noticing her descent, he closed his book and lifted his gaze. "You're awake."
