She Left the CEO and Reclaimed Her Empire

Chapter 502

Camille returned from Calderwick with two days off.

She spent the first day completely resting.

On the second morning, just after breakfast, her phone rang.

It was Damien.

She glanced at the screen before answering.

"What is it?"

"Grandmother was discharged from the hospital two days ago. She wants you to come to Harrington Manor for lunch."

Camille already knew about Helena's discharge.

She had been away on business in Calderwick and couldn't pick her up personally.

"Understood," she replied.

She was about to hang up when Damien spoke again.

"I'll come get you now."

"No need, I'll drive myself—"

"Chloe insists on coming with me to pick you up. She's already putting her shoes on."

Camille paused.

"...Alright."

"We'll be there shortly."

She didn't respond, so Damien ended the call.

About thirty minutes later, Damien and Chloe arrived at the Hartwell residence.

The rest of the Hartwell family was out.

When Chloe saw Camille, she happily jumped out of the car and ran over for a hug.

"Mommy!"

Damien lowered the window from the driver's seat and turned to look at them.

Once in the car, Chloe clung to Camille.

She chattered about all the fun things she'd done recently.

She mentioned that the gift she bought was already waiting at Harrington Manor.

While Camille talked with Chloe, Damien focused solely on driving.

When Chloe finished her stories, he glanced back at Camille.

"Have you been resting these past two days?"

"Yes," she answered.

There wasn't much else to say between them.

So Damien didn't initiate further conversation during the drive.

Helena had always been particularly fond of Camille.

She was overjoyed to see her arrive at Harrington Manor.

Seeing how much better Helena looked, Camille felt relieved.

Damien was quite busy.

While Camille kept Helena company and chatted with her, his phone hardly stopped ringing.

After lunch, Camille originally planned to stay a bit longer before heading home in the afternoon.

But outside, a heavy downpour began.

It didn't let up for quite some time.

Since Helena had only just recovered and was still weak, she went upstairs for her afternoon nap.

Damien turned to Camille.

"If you're tired, go upstairs and rest too."

Before she could answer, Chloe tugged her hand and pulled her upstairs.

Instead of going to Damien's room, Camille followed Chloe into her room.

When she had cleared out her things from Damien's house, she had taken almost everything.

But here at Harrington Manor, she hadn't removed her belongings.

So there were still several sets of her clothes in Chloe's wardrobe.

As Camille searched for pajamas to change into, there was a knock at the door.

She turned her head.

Before she could speak, Damien stood at the doorway.

He saw her rifling through Chloe's closet.

Realizing she must be looking for sleepwear, he didn't comment.

His eyes shifted to the bed where Chloe lay.

"Is she asleep?"

He nodded lightly.

"Rest well."

With that, he gently closed the door and walked away.

It had been a long time since Camille last stayed at Harrington Manor.

She thought she wouldn't be able to fall asleep.

Yet not long after lying down beside Chloe, she drifted off without realizing.

When she woke, her temples ached slightly from sleeping too long.

Chloe was no longer in the room.

After washing up, she went downstairs.

She didn't see Helena or Chloe.

Only Damien sat in the living room, reading.

He noticed her coming down.

He closed the book in his hand and lifted his gaze to her.

"You're awake."
