Sunday afternoon brought a call from Chloe.

She wanted to visit.

Camille remembered her promise to the girl.

She agreed immediately.

A driver brought Chloe over.

The moment she stepped out of the car, Chloe rushed into Camille's arms.

She spent some time cuddling with Camille and Marianne.

Then she announced her big news excitedly.

She had won first place in her fencing competition.

She had brought the trophy in her little backpack.

She shoved it happily into Camille's hands.

Marianne watched with a beaming smile.

She couldn't stop praising Chloe's excellence and capability.

Camille knew she hadn't contributed much to Chloe's fencing.

She also knew her future involvement might be limited.

After a moment's thought, she made a suggestion.

"How about we buy a frame to mount your trophy?"

Chloe immediately declined.

"Dad already had a custom frame made for me before the competition."

She described it as super pretty.

She had taken a picture of it.

Hearing Camille's suggestion, she pulled out her phone.

She handed it to Camille proudly.

"See? Isn't it beautiful?"

Camille glanced at the photo.

Even through the image, she could tell the frame was extremely expensive.

Damien had prepared it secretly in advance.

That showed how much thought he had put into it.

Chloe already had a custom frame.

But Camille's suggestion still made her very happy.

Chloe stayed overnight at the Hartwell residence.

The next morning, Camille packed required documents into her bag.

Chloe noticed but didn't understand what they were.

She didn't ask any questions.

Camille looked at her daughter's clear eyes beneath that pretty face.

She realized Damien still hadn't told Chloe about their divorce.

She hesitated for a moment.

Chloe looked back at her, puzzled.

"Mom? What's wrong?"

Camille worried that saying anything might cause problems.

She decided it was better for Damien to handle it.

"Nothing, sweetheart."

"I'm going to work now. Don't run around, okay?"

"Got it. Bye, Mom."

Camille nodded and went downstairs.

She left for the courthouse.

Damien was already waiting outside when she arrived.

"Morning," he greeted.

Camille nodded silently.

They walked in together without further conversation.

The procedure didn't take long.

It was completed quickly.

Camille was about to leave when Damien's phone rang.

He had been preparing to leave as well.

Seeing the caller ID, he answered while slowing his pace.

Camille walked ahead but still caught his voice.

"Everything went smoothly. It's done."

"I'll go over to your place in a bit."

He continued speaking.

"I've already sorted out the issues with NovaSight Labs."

"The plan is prepared. Don't worry."

"I'll drop by personally later."

He and Selene began discussing other matters.

The distance between them grew.

Camille could no longer hear their conversation.

She got into her car and drove away.

Shortly after, Damien also got into his car and left.

They didn't even say goodbye after finalizing their divorce.
