She Left the CEO and Reclaimed Her Empire
Chapter 144
Camille drove away after lunch with Tristan and Iris. On her way home, Elise called.
"Cami, where are you? I'm exhausted! Come pick me up for dinner."
Camille didn't mention she'd already eaten. "Where are you?"
"Bellmere Manor," Elise said. "That classical courtyard-style residential complex developed last year. Been house-hunting with my aunt all morning. Dead tired."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Camille adjusted her GPS toward Bellmere Manor.
Ten minutes later, Elise called again. "Damn! Guess who I just ran into?"
Camille paused. Lately, only one person could make Elise curse like that.
"Damien and Selene with her entire family! He's giving the Lancasters a property tour!"
Camille's expression remained neutral as she hummed in response.
Usually when Damien and Selene went out, they brought Chloe along. The reason he'd left his daughter home alone today? Entertaining the Lancasters.
Made sense. The Harringtons had already settled into their new home. If the Lancasters planned to stay in Lucerne, they'd need property too.
Arriving at Bellmere Manor, Camille parked and texted Elise her location.
Elise replied she'd be out soon.
Camille asked where she was. Elise said she'd stopped by the sales office to use the restroom and sent the location.
Just as Camille stepped out, she spotted Helena, Malcolm, and Rosalie walking toward the parking lot.
They were all smiling, clearly in excellent spirits.
Camille exited her car, but the trio entered from the opposite side and didn't notice her.
Minutes later at the sales office entrance, Camille collided with Damien and Selene. They were exiting surrounded by seven or eight sales executives.
Damien glanced sideways at her while Selene, clinging to his arm, shot her a cold look.
Camille averted her gaze indifferently and walked past them toward Elise.
Seeing her, Elise gritted her teeth. "Properties here start at 300 million. The staff told me Damien bought the Lancasters the premium villa - over 600 million!"
Camille simply hummed.
Studying her expression, Elise added, "And apparently they chose this development because Selene's mother loves the architectural style—"
Camille's steps faltered almost imperceptibly. No wonder Helena had looked so pleased earlier.
Suppressing her emotions, Camille said calmly, "I need the restroom."
"Okay."
Inside, Camille clenched her fists. She'd grown numb to stories of Damien doting on Selene.
But hearing him catering to Helena still—
Voices outside caught her attention.
"That Mr. Harrington has impeccable taste. His girlfriend is stunning."
"Right? And her mother—so elegant and classy. The best part? Her husband and in-laws indulge her every whim. Everything revolves around her preferences. She's utterly spoiled!"
"Ugh, comparing her to my own in-laws makes me furious."
"Exactly! Mr. Harrington treats his girlfriend like royalty. They're not even married yet, and he just dropped 600 million on a villa for her family. Some women really win the genetic lottery."
