After I Walked Away, My Billionaire Ex Begged Me Back
Chapter 344: Catherine Holloway Had Been Hiding at Home for Seven Straight Days
Catherine Holloway had been hiding at home for seven straight days.
She paced the living room restlessly, fingers twisting a silk scarf. The maids maintained polite expressions, but their whispers still reached her ears.
"Madam is throwing another tantrum..."
"I heard that mother and son keep causing scenes at the gate..."
Catherine slammed her teacup onto the coffee table. She was the esteemed Mrs. Holloway—why should she cower in her own home like a fugitive?
"Prepare the car!" She abruptly stood.
The driver, Mr. Alden, arrived promptly. "Madam, those two are still at the entrance—"
"Drive out!" Catherine's lipsticked mouth pressed into a thin line. "Run them over if you have to!"
She changed into her most expensive designer suit and stepped into the car in stilettos.
As the vehicle approached the gates, the mother-son duo squatted like sentinels on either side.
"Faster," Catherine commanded coldly.
Sweat beaded on the driver's forehead as he accelerated.
Donna Russo was mid-complaint when she heard the engine roar. She looked up to see the black sedan barreling toward them.
"Watch out!" She yanked her son Trevor aside as the car grazed their clothes.
"Murderers!" Donna shrieked, slapping her thighs. "Think money makes you untouchable? I'll put you on the front page!"
Catherine watched their flailing figures in the rearview mirror, lips curling.
Trevor scrambled up, covered in dust. "Mom, should we keep waiting?"
"Until hell freezes over!" Donna spat. "Let's see how long she can hide!"
Two days later.
Trevor scratched at his mosquito bites when his phone rang. His eyes widened as he listened.
"Mom! A tabloid's offering big money for Holloway family dirt!" He waved his phone excitedly. "An exclusive on their scandals!"
Donna's dull eyes gleamed. "How much?"
"Enough for a penthouse!" His voice shook. "They said...if we escalate the drama..."
