After I Walked Away, My Billionaire Ex Begged Me Back
Chapter 255: Paige Lawson Stood at the Dormitory Door
Paige Lawson stood at the dormitory door, her fingertips lightly pushing it open.
Sunlight slanted through the window, illuminating her new designer sweater.
"Paige?" Emma Fairfax was the first to notice her, setting down her book in surprise.
The other roommates looked up, their gazes lingering on her designer outfit.
"I'm here to pack my things." Paige strode in on her high heels, casually placing her designer bag on the table.
The dorm fell silent.
"My withdrawal papers are already submitted." She began organizing her closet with indifference. "I can't keep studying anyway."
Emma shot to her feet. "Are you insane? You're only two years from graduation!"
"Graduation?" Paige chuckled, her fingers brushing over her slightly rounded abdomen. "I have more important matters now."
All eyes dropped to her stomach.
"I'm pregnant." She lifted her chin. "The Holloway family values this child."
The air froze for several seconds.
"Are you sure about this?" Emma's voice trembled. "That's Grant Holloway—a notorious playboy."
Paige's expression darkened. "You know nothing. He's different with me."
She shoved clothes into her suitcase, her designer bracelet jingling at her wrist.
"At least talk to your parents—"
"Them?" Paige sneered. "Have they ever cared about me, except when asking for money?"
Silence reclaimed the room.
"Think whatever you want." She snapped the suitcase shut. "You'll understand once I marry into the Holloway family."
The sudden roar of a sports car echoed outside.
Paige's eyes brightened as she grabbed her bag.
"My ride's here."
The roommates exchanged uneasy glances as she walked out without looking back.
Emma rushed to the doorway just in time to see a red Italian sports car speeding away.
"Did she really think this through?" someone whispered.
No one answered.
The sunlight remained bright, shining on the now-empty bed.
